Glass Kilns - Electric Kilns & Microwave Kilns

Glass Kilns for Hot Glass Fusing & Slumping

The Grinder Shop uses glass kilns to make kiln formed or dichroic glass. Fusing glass in a kiln is an art form much like creating a sculpture. Using a electric glass kiln, it is possible to use various pieces of colored glass and fuse them together. The result is a beautifully fused single piece of glass resembling a painted work of art. A single piece of glass or a finished piece of dichroic glass may be fused many times in order to get the specific effects. Fusing glass with a electric kilns is the best way to take multiple glass shapes and colors to create beautiful, glass art without the need for lead line separators. Just like any art form, creating kiln formed or fused glass takes practice. Keeping a running log of firings will help you figure out how your glass kiln operates with the most effectiveness.
